The Towel captures a moment of quiet transition—when movement has slowed and the body settles back into itself.

The figure is partially enclosed, wrapped rather than revealed. The towel becomes both garment and gesture: an act of care, modesty, and self-containment. It softens the form without concealing it, allowing weight, curve, and posture to remain present while introducing a sense of intimacy and pause.

There is an understated strength in the pose. The body is relaxed but grounded, aware of itself without performance. The towel suggests what has just passed—a bath, a moment of cleansing—but the work lingers on what comes after: stillness, warmth, and the comfort of being held, even briefly.

The Towel is about tenderness toward the self. It reflects the quiet rituals we rarely witness, where the body is neither on display nor in action, but simply existing—supported, wrapped, and at ease.

This piece references Edgar Degas’ Women Bathing series, reinterpreting its themes of intimacy and the unseen rituals of daily life through a sculptural lens.

All Bronze sculptures are limited editions of 20 casts, other mediums potentially available upon request.
