Fisica was born in Florence, during a quiet moment that left a lasting imprint.
While attending oil painting and sculpting classes at The Florence Studio, I spent my days immersed in form, proportion, and material. One Sunday morning, walking toward coffee with a friend, we passed the windows of the Frilli Gallery. Inside stood a sculpture by Italian artist Giovanni Balderi—a larger-than-life marble figure of the female form.
It was arresting.
Confident, powerful, and unapologetically present.
The sculpture balanced softness with strength, classical technique with a modern sensibility. It celebrated the body not as ornament, but as structure—weight, curve, tension, and grace held in perfect equilibrium. That moment of stillness, standing on a Florentine street, became the foundation for Fisica.
This piece is inspired by that encounter: by the physicality of marble, the reverence of traditional sculpture, and the quiet authority of the feminine form. Fisica honours presence—how a body occupies space, how form speaks without explanation, and how beauty can feel grounded rather than delicate.
Rooted in art history and personal memory, Fisica is a reflection on form, strength, and the enduring impact of seeing something truly unforgettable.
All Bronze sculptures are limited editions of 20 casts, other mediums potentially available upon request.
